Shopify import fix

Shopify: Price is invalid

The price cell contains characters Shopify cannot read as a number. Currency symbols, thousands separators and locale decimal commas all cause this.

How to fix it

  1. Find the price column (Price or Variant Price).
  2. Remove currency symbols: $29.00 becomes 29.00.
  3. Remove thousands separators: 1,299.00 becomes 1299.00.
  4. If your locale uses a decimal comma, convert 29,00 to 29.00.
  5. Confirm every price is in your store's currency; Shopify does not convert on import.

How to avoid it next time

Export prices as plain numbers from your source system, not as formatted strings.
